Peace For Peace ivylzli1122

Peace certainly doesn't seem to just come and live within us. People are Ray Rice Jersey more likely to feel some level of Andy Dalton Jersey conflict than feel peace. Most of us are caught within the 'Will I-Won't I?' spectrum of life, or some other such variation. Few are those who really seem to be at peace. But what of those who are? What can we record about them?

We can record that they appear not to be at war with themselves or others. They abstain from war-causing activities like fighting or antagonism. There is a harmonious, congruent sense about them. They seem Terrell Suggs Jersey neither to be shackled to civil unrest nor to be causing any breaches of the peace. They simply seem not to dissent whilst the rest of us do.

Can this be the essence of peace? Can we just compile and adhere to the maxims of; don't war, don't fight, don't antagonise, be harmonious and congruent, unshackle yourself and do not dissent; and thereby attain peace?

Perhaps it is. Perhaps the essence of peace lies primarily in not doing things which are not peaceful.

The difficulty comes when we are, or belief we are, having non-peaceful activities carried out against us. How can we be peaceful when faced with the non-peaceful? What serenity is possible in the face of disturbing activity? Perhaps there is none. Perhaps our peace is unattainable unless peace prevails around us.

If this is the case then few if any of us can be at peace. Even if not directly involved in war, war is brought to us by modern, 24 hour a day, global communication systems. Sometimes it seems as if war is the only news; war on our streets; war on our door steps; war on terror. Is Ray Lewis Jersey there anything as insane as waging war against terror; Josh Cribbs Jersey a non-peaceful activity against a peace shattering tactic?

So where does this leave us; you and I? How can we be at peace in a world that seems to be at war?

Well the first thing we can do is ask if what seems to be the case is the case. Is the world at war? For me it is not. The World is merely being the world whilst wars are fought upon it, and wars are fought by us. Never have I seen a gerbil (in reality) fire a gun or strap dynamite to its body. Therefore, phase one is to work from the foundation that we, not our world; are war-riors.

And phase two? - Well, if we belief we war, we can believe we peace. That is, we can do peace. See it not as a feeling or as an ideal, but as an action. It becomes therefore not so much about not doing things which are not peaceful, as doing things which are James Harrison Jersey peaceful.

We can then compile and adhere to a revised list of maxims; do peace, do co-operation; do calming, be harmonious and congruent, unshackle, agree (if even to disagree).

From this we can answer the question(s): What is peace, and how do we get it?

Answer: Peace is something we do and we get it by doing peace. If we don't do peace; we don't get peace. One can never sanely claim to fight for peace. But one can surely and sanely claim to peace for peace.
